So who would win? The Rogues vs. The Secret Six

What's up people?

So I decided to try something new, or new-ish and try doing a new feature around here.
Not too long ago, like maybe a year back, I attempted to do these posts where I'd have certain teams or individual comic characters face off against each other Deathmatch-style.

I believe the first one was the JLA vs. the Squadron Supreme, which just seems like a natural considering the Squadron is a direct Marvel rip-off of the League.

So in the spirit of that, and an innocent suggestion by the ever wise Shlomo, who you can thank or blame, here's my match up of the week:

The Rogues vs. The Secret Six.

So, who'd you think and why?

Oh, and I can't forget the roster list for both teams:

The Rogues:

-Captain Cold
-Mirror Master
-Weather Wizard
-Captain Boomerang
-Heatwave
-The Trickster

The Secret Six:

-Deadshot
-Bane
-Catman
-Scandal Savage
-Banshee
-Ragdoll

See, that's an even and fair number for both sides. Let the debates begin.......NOW!

I'll let you guys know who I'd pick tomorrow, but feel more than free to leave your choices in the comments section on who'd win and why.

Now here's (sort of) a possible set-up:

Meanwhile we find the other players in this drama entering the stage now......

Well sneaky, sneaky me for sneaking in an almost full-blown skit in the middle of this thing;)

Ha ha.

Secret Six FTW...without a doubt.
The Rogues would sneak and snitch but ultimately they argue with each other far too much, whereas the Six have all those odd relationships with each other that mean they stick together. Any fight/feud would involve a long drawn-out battle, with possible Ragdoll trying to join the other side.
Its like frat boys fighting with drag queens. An excellent description of both teams!

@Karl, so you're a "Secret Six" guy huh? Well you do give a pretty good explanation for why the 'Six might win this one, as in-fighting is probably a pretty damn good reason why the Rogues might lose this one.

I could see Ragdoll really having fun fucking with the more straight-laced, foul-tempered Rogues, especially Captain Cold.

But yeah I agree w/you, it really would be a long drawn-out battle when you again consider the skill-set and power-set. PLus the experience too, with both the Trickster and Ragdoll being the weak spots in that department.

Thanks for giving me your opinion Karl, 'preciate it;)

So that's one for the 'Six. Who else?

First: AWESOME mirror effect. I thought I was right in the action. Also, giggling all the way through it. Litter box. hehehe.

Second: I wonder if your blog pops up in Didio's search of himself on google? I really hope so.

Third: The Rogues. Especially in the scenario you just put up, because Deadshot didn't off any of the major players in a sneak attack. If you switched that around, I could almost see the Six taking it. But I'm still going to vote for the Rogues. Cause I've loved hating them longer. And I believe in the power of positive thinking.

Mr. Morbid's House Of Fun said...

@Random: Aww, thanks. I really tried to go and duplicate what I thought a mirror transportation effect would look like, but looking back at it, I'm still not happy with it. Ce la vie I guess.

Second, yeah me too. And should he grace with his presence or deem me worthy of a response I won't back down from my position at all, and be all like "Aww, I was just kidding Mr. didio. You're stuff's great." Fuck that!
But he's more than welcome to post any comments he may have regarding my extreme dislike of him and his shitty work.

Lastly, yeah I'm personally going with the Rogues on this one too. I believe they'd barely, barely win this, taking heavy casualties, but squeeking a victory out anyways. I say Mr. "I never met a line of coke I didn't like or tried to snort" helps them win the day.

"Only if you go back to your bloody litter box mate". awesome Dale, i bet that's exactly what he'd say to. as for which team would win i don't have the mental energy to try and figure it out but i really enjoy this posting.

@Shlomo, thanks man, glad you liked this one, figured you would:)

So you really can't decide who'd win? Tell you what, you think about it, especially over the weekend, and let me know what you come up with.

This was brilliant - cracked me up with breakfast. Winners though have to be the rouges. Even if it just came down to him, cold would still pull victory out of his wooly hat. Plus Mirror Master would hijack Ragdolls makeup mirror and get him to swap sides for its safe return. After that its all one way...

@Dan, good, glad I could help you start the day off right with some nutrition and a laugh;)

As for the winners, I totally agree with you; the Rogues pull a win out of their asses, but to me Mirror Master's the main reason why. He's just that damn sneaky like that.

So, so far that's an overwhelming 3-1, with the Rogues going over the Six. It's still not too late to pick your favorites people.

Ahhhh.....I love the face off. The winner would be the fans. Both of these teams have huge fan folllowings. Rogue Squadron vs the knockoff Suicide Squad???

I don't know I like the Six better as a team but Cold is my guy?

maybe if it came down to Captain Cold and Deadshot being the last men standing in a 3 issue mini...I'd go with...

the Rogues!!! I don't know how they would pull it off (hopefully in the corniest and most accidental way possible).

Randomnerd said...

@OA1 Yes! Exactly! The Rogues have the stupid win factor on their side. Along with all the powers, of course.
:)

Mr. Morbid's House Of Fun said...

@Omega: Yeah, the fans would really be the winners, and maybe Gail Simone too if she was allowed to write this thing.

As for Cold and Deadshot in a one-on-one? Damn that's a good question. I really wanna' say Cold, but the sure money seems to be on Deadshot.

But yeah, the Rogues pull a win off either way.

@Random: "Stupid win factor huh?" As Bobby "the Brain" Hennan was fond of saying, "A win's a win anyway you can take it." ;) But yea, go team Rogues!!!

Shlomo Ben Hungstien said...

i'm going to go with Secret 6. they've got too many hard core killers on their side such as Deadshot and then there are those who bring some serious skills to the game like Catman. by the way Dale did you see my comment on Googum's latest blog posting?

Mr. Morbid's House Of Fun said...

@Shlomo, I did, and yeah, talk about timing right?

So you're all in for the Six huh? Well good, since there hasn't been too many people siding with them outside of you and @Karl.

googum said...

I thought about this for a while, and although sometimes they're portrayed as sad, short-sighted losers; I'm going with the Rogues. They don't have a lot of team spirit, and aren't particularly close, but they're like the Wu-Tang Clan: they have a plan as a group and as individuals, and any one of them can drop it. The Six is more like six solo artists on the same track, stepping all over each other.

Damnit, now I want more Rogue figures...

Mr. Morbid's House Of Fun said...

@Goo, yeah, like I said I like the comparisons you made between the WU-Tang Clan and the Rogues; never thought of it like that, but it makes sense to me. Oh and same here, I'd love to see the rest of the Rogues finished up and , made as well, which'll probably happen never:(

"Closing time. You don't have to go home but you can't stay here."

Well..... I kinda always knew this day would come, and it sure has. It's been a hell of a ride, but it's time to for it end. Ti...
